Quit Bitching

The past couple of days I’ve seen headlines about girl fights (ye old Ann Romney vs. Hilary Rosen), read stories about racial profiling and the violent aftermath and read a lot of bitching on Twitter from Americans about America.

Two things: Shut up and work for solutions.

Perhaps Twitter just brings out the high school in people but all I’ve seen lately is a lot of bitching and little action. Everyone wants things to be different, to be better but very few are willing to take action. There seems to be this screwy idea that this is the job of the US Government (and all branches thereof).

News Flash: They won’t do anything for improvement! If anything, they’ll make it worse.

While the country watches the circus that is the current presidential race I think that it’s time we all took a que from Wisconsin as they are fixing to do a recall election. If you don’t like what your leaders are doing RECALL them. Learn the Issues

Two days ago, I read an article about a growing movement known as the 53% and I’m absolutely astounded by the mass stupidity so rampant in the US.

Honestly, I shouldn’t be astounded by it, but I am.

The basic message of this 53% movement is quit whining and get a job. It’s this idea that the Occupy Wall Street movement is a bunch of whiny hippies who just want government hand outs. The basic message of the 53% is absolutely absurd.

I can see why people would develop this idea about the Occupy Wall Street movement: There’s no actual leadership and no clear defined statement as to what is hoped will be accomplished by this “revolution” of sorts. But this 53% movement needs to remove their heads from their asses and learn what the actual problem is.

The problem isn’t the corporate greed as the media would have us believe: the problem is the greedy trumping our basic human rights. The problem is, that politicians have allowed themselves to be bought by this greed and in the process have thrown away the rights of average working American citizen. The bigger problem is: Most Americans don’t know what their basic rights are.

Here’s a list of the basic rights that aren’t being preserved in the current political landscape which have led to this Occupy Wall Street movement.

Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person. Article 3 Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression… Article 19 Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Everyone has the right to freedom of peaceful assembly and association. -Article 20 Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Everyone has the right to take part in the government of his country… -Article 21 Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Everyone, as a member of society, has the right to social security…-Article 22 Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Everyone has the right to work…-Article 23 Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself…-Article 25 Universal Declaration of Human Rights

These rights aren’t being upheld: There are no jobs because corporate greed has sent them over seas, there is no health care because greedy insurance companies have made it ridiculously expensive to obtain it, when jobs are available they are subject to credit- bad credit comes when you can’t work and those who don’t have a job can’t get a job because they aren’t currently employed as employers are denying any candidates employment if they aren’t already employed.  The voices of the American people are NOT being heard in our government.

This, this is the problem. It’s not a matter of wanting handouts, it’s a matter of wanting a standard of living-wanting rights kept and enforced. That isn’t happening. That is why there is a movement.

So to the 53%, shut up and learn what the real issue is before bashing those who can’t work because of the system.
