Author’s Note: Since writing this blog post the Youtube Channel Newnamenoah, mentioned later on this post, has been banned from Youtube. The though the maker of the film did nothing illegal and is not infringing on any copyright laws, Youtube has decided that sharing hidden video, taken by Newnamenoah, is a hate speech. They clearly have no justification for it and in my opinion are guilty of infringing another American’s First Amendment rights.
This is what you’re dealing with my friends. A religious organization so powerful that it has influenced Youtube to deliver injustice to an American citizen. I’m curious as to how much Youtube was paid for this infringement.
You may find it odd that an atheist is writing an open letter to you regarding the faith of presidential candidate Mitt Romney but I think there are some things you should know regarding his “Christian” belief.
As many of you know Mitt Romney is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, also known as the LDS or Mormon Church. This religion was founded in April, 1830 by a self proclaimed prophet named Joseph Smith. The modern Mormon Church is trying desperately to appear to be “Christian” in the traditional American sense but I can promise you Mormons are not traditional Christians.
Should this really be a concern in a country based on religious freedom? It should be if you’re a Christian and voting your Christian conscience.
Why? Because Mormons want everyone to be Mormon- they have a strong missionary effort world wide to convert folks to their church but if they can’t get you in the here and now they try to reach into the eternities and perform “baptism for the dead” thereby making every person who lived on the earth Mormon. (Please see the stories of Jewish holocaust victims who have been “baptized” into the Mormon Church.)
There are key factors of Mormon doctrine I think Christians should know regarding Mitt’s faith before casting their vote on November 6th.
Mormon Teaching: The Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man’s; the Son also… Doctrine and Covenants 130:22
Biblical Teaching: God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. John 4:24
Mormon Teaching: And they (the Gods) said: Let there be light… Abraham 4:3
Biblical Teaching: Here, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord. Deuteronomy 6:4
Mormon Teaching: Then shall they be gods, because they have no end; therefore shall they be from everlasting to everlasting, because they continue; then shall they be above all, because all things are subject unto them. Doctrine and Covenants 132:20
Biblical Teaching: Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. Isaiah 44:6
Mormon Teaching: (God lives near a planet called Kolob) And thus there shall be the reckoning of the time of one planet above another, until thou come night unto Kolob, which Kolob is after the reckoning of the Lord’s time; which Kolob is set night unto the throne of God… Abraham 3:9
Biblical Teaching: Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool. Where is the house that you will build Me? And where is the place of My rest? Isaiah 66:1
Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the Lord. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the Lord. Jeremiah 23:24
As many know, Mormons have temples in which they perform ceremonies they believe necessary for progression and spiritual salvation. Please note that only “worthy” Mormons are allowed in these temples and no one ever speaks about what goes on in there-EVER. They claim that they do not speak of it because it is so sacred. But here’s the plain truth of the matter: it’s a secret. Please visit Youtube Channel Newnamenoah and watch Behind the Veil for incredible hidden camera footage of Mormon temple ceremonies and decide for yourself just how Christian these practices are. And please remember what the Bible teaches about things done in secret:
Jesus answered him, I spake openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the TEMPLE, whither the Jews always resort; and in secret have I said nothing. John 18:20
And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. Ephesians 5:11-12
And remember the Bible teaches there is ONE temple-Mormons have over 100:
Take heed to thyself that thou offer not thy burnt offerings in every place that thou seest: But in the place which the Lord shall choose in one of thy tribes, there thou shalt offer thy burnt offerings, and there thou shalt do all that I command thee. Deuteronomy 12:13-14
And please also remember that Jesus made the temple obsolete:
And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. Matthew 24:2
Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. And behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake and the rocks rent; Matthew 27:50-51
Now I want to leave you with one final thought, friends. Mormonism may appear to be Christian, they may claim to believe in the same Jesus of the Christian Bible but here is what they actually think of every Lutheran, every Catholic, every Methodist and Evangelical: YOUR CHURCH IS AN ABOMINATION TO GOD:
I was answered that I must join none of them, for they were all wrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that their creeds were in abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt; that: “they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof.” Pearl of Great Price: Joseph Smith-History 1:19
Does Mitt Romney’s faith really share your values, your beliefs, your traditions? He doesn’t talk about his faith and for good reasons: it’s not the faith that millions in America hold dear. As an atheist I’m willing to protect your faith-are you?
