Gods of Convenience Pathway to Destruction

INTRODUCTION

It takes a special kind of stupid to pay someone to tell you how YOU should live. Yet we do it and we do it all the time.

Advertisers know how to get to the money in your pocket. They are trained to have you seek fulfillment outside yourself, for your dreams to include their products, their life-for their dream to become your dream. (1) This is a truth that wold freak retail stores into absolute panic if everyone knew it; for if everyone knew this truth our understanding of what we need verses what we think we need would ruin several and various kinds of retail businesses.

This understanding came to me, ironically, while working in retail. One might think I wouldn’t dare have such thoughts as it could potentially mean the end of a steady paycheck which would devastate my ability to survive- but I learned something about that too.

I DO NOT NEED MONEY TO SURVIVE.

ALL OF MY NEEDS ARE MET BY NATURE.

Some where along the line the idea, the concept that money was paramount to human survival developed and we were dumb enough to buy into this idea. Now this idea that money is essential for survival has become fact. We, humanity, have willingly chosen to make money the vehicle in which we are able to survive.

It’s really a dumb idea, if you get down to the nitty gritty. Ever see a squirrel pull out his wallet to pay for the nut he just picked off the ground? Or see a lion offer monetary compensation to the family of the zebra she just ate for dinner? You haven’t? So why on earth are you doing it?
