If you look at life…it has been made for you to keep going on and on. Don’t look back to what has happened because there’s more to come. -Unknown
It is easy to hate and it is difficult to love. This is how the whole scheme of things works. All good things are difficult to achieve; and bad things are very easy to get. -Confucius
A fascist is one whose lust for money or power is combined with such an intensity of intolerance toward those of other races, parties, classes, religions, cultures, regions or nations as to make him ruthless in his use of deceit or violence to attain his ends. -Henry A. Wallace
A wise and frugal Government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government, and this is necessary to close the circlue of our felicities. -Thomas Jefferson
“We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution.” -Abraham Lincoln
Over the past couple days I’ve trolled through historical political quotes and have been rather disturbed by what I have found.
Please examine the quotes I found that were most disturbing to me.
It is absolutely astounding to me that the US has learned nothing from the fall of Rome but what shakes me to my core is that no one has walked away with any lessons from the Nazi regime.
We are in an election year and the only candidates being presented to me are candidates hell bent on war and controlling the people through fear. And what’s so damn terrifying is that the people, who will be flattened by these politicians’ iron fist, are ready to vote them in.
If you cannot see how this quote: “Why of course the people don’t want war. Why should some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece? Naturally the common people don’t want war neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascistdictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” – Hermann Goering- applies to today as much as yesterday and is in fact what world governments are doing all over the place today, then you are part of the problem.
YOU, the people, deserve better. Demand better.
You have rights. Force your government to obey the law.
